Website Designer & Fearless Leader

Craig Miranda has been a Graphic Designer and New Media Designer for over 20 years. He has played the role of Creative Director, Art Director, Web Designer, Graphic Designer and Photographer for some of the best Los Angeles, California agencies before starting Miranda Design in 1995. Unlike most traditional Graphic Designers, he also has a thorough knowledge of programming and works fluently in HTML, DHTML, XML, Javascript, PHP, Actionscript (Flash) and Perl. This ability allows him to fulfill the role of Website Designer and Website Developer. He considers this a vital part of maintaining the integrity and functionality of the design all the way from the conceptual phase to the coding phase. Even when working with a full scale design and development team, he is very hands on and drives the process at all levels. He also believes that the process should be fun.

As principal Website Designer, Craig has conceptualized, designed and developed sites for film, music, entertainment, high-tech, consumer and other industries. His clients have ranged from high-profile to mid and small size companies.

He operates the studio with the philosophy that the single most important element in the process is the client. The client's need is what must drive the process.

He describes himself as:

  • A Web Designer who believes that the primary purpose of design is functionality.
  • A Web Designer that is as dedicated to technology as design and thinks that it's crucial that both are in conjunction.
  • A Web Designer who practices restraint to keep the project true to the original goal.
  • A nice guy that likes to wear black and enjoys his work.

Studio Approach to Web Projects

Our design process begins with fully understanding each client and determining each client's specific need. We believe strongly that the literal message (words) and the underlying visual message (color palette, texture, graphics) must be in sync and must reach the target audience on all levels within the design; conscious and subliminal. Many decisions to buy or utilize a service are made more on the emotional level than the intellectual level and it is important to be fully in-tune with the messages being communicated on a deeper psychological level.
